Classes

We offer a variety of classes for the whole family:

Mini Monkeys

Ages 4-7

Mini Monkeys is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu class for children aged 4-7 years old.

Emphasis is placed on self-defense, escapes, and becoming comfortable with wrestling.

An adult/parent is required to participate as a partner for the entire class.

For your first class just wear a t-shirt and shorts. Students are expected to purchase a uniform (gi) within the first month.

Young Guns

Ages 7-12

Classes include a warm-up, technical instruction, and games. Emphasis is placed on fitness, self-defense, judo, submissions, and wrestling.

Tournament competitions are available in the province throughout the year for students if they desire.

Students should wear a t-shirt and shorts (with drawstring) to their first class. Students are then required to buy a club gi (uniform) within the first month.

Young Guns

Ages 7-12

Adults

Ages 13+

Emphasis is placed on fitness, self-defense, and submission wrestling.

Fundamental Classes: These are classes for beginners, white belts, and anyone else working towards their blue belt (e.g.  green belts). Don’t be fooled by the name, these classes teach all aspects of jiu-jitsu: takedowns, escapes, sweeps, submissions, sport strategy, and self-defense.

Advanced Classes: Advanced classes are designed for blue, purple and brown belts. Anyone is welcome to participate but may need to just watch if they don’t understand the fundamentals of the technique.

Tournament competitions are available in Edmonton throughout the year for students if they desire.

Students should wear a t-shirt and shorts (with drawstring) to their first class. Students are required to buy a club gi (uniform) within their first month of classes.
